This download is for 72 classroom library labels in bright polka dot. They come with smaller labels to be printed on address label sheets (Avery size 8460 or 5160). These small labels should be cut and placed on the back of the books, so that your students know which bin the book belongs to. I have also included a link to an editable powerpoint document for you to create your own labels. I have zipped in a Word document with blank labels and I have zipped in the small label file in Word.

I also sell these coordinating polka dot items, NOT included in this packet:

Polka Dot Word Wall Labels

Polka Dot Door Decor

Polka Dot Word Wall Words

Polka Dot Leveled Library Labels

Polka Dot Classroom Signs

To see photos of these labels printed out, go to: Polka Dot Classroom Post

Erica,
I love your work and blog.

I am wondering: Does this pack include popular series for firsties? I am looking for particular labels such as Fly Guy, Amelia Bedelia, Mo Willems, ect to label my classroom library.

Thanks!

It includes Mo Willems, Froggy, Franklin, Clifford, Eric Carle, Melanie Watts, & Laura Numeroff. I include directions for how to make your own. I didn't want to break copyright by including "Google Image" results for specific characters, so I used generic clip art of a Frog for Froggy and so on. I hope this helps. Thank you for your interest.

Hi Erica.. Jen again. I bought the Bright Polka Dot Classroom Library Organization Labels. I can access the PDF just fine. I can access and edit the editable big library labels just fine. It is the small editable lables that open as a read only word document on any computer I have tried them on and I can't edit them. I don't need to have access to the whole file... just a blank template of the label in the different colors so that I can match a few that I made for big library labels.

Jennifer,

With the little labels, they are screen shots of the bigger labels. I am sorry but you cannot click on them to edit, you can copy and paste them so that you don't have to print the whole file. Those labels are way too tiny for me to make editable. You would not be able to work with them and maintain the correct size.

To make your own little labels, take a screen shot of your new "big labels" and insert the screen shot into a label file or hit tab at the end of the last label in the Word label file. That will start a new line of labels.

If this is too difficult for you, I suggest assigning a dot label to the back of books that have the labels you created. So if you created a label for your state, put a blue office supply dot on the label and then on the back of all the state books.

I hope this helps.

Erica... I asked a question earlier and I was not clear as to my trouble. I am having the same issue that jujy3 is having with her small labels. When I open them in word it gives me a read only version also. If I save it with a different name is still does not allow me to edit the labels. I can open the large labels and edit them fine, but I cannot edit the small ones. Please help as I LOVE your set and I look forward to using it this year with my students.

Thanks so much for this! It's going to be a really great organizing tool for my class library. I know you are super busy and I hate to add to your ever growing questions list...but I am having trouble with the small editable labels. When it opens up in word, it gives me a read only version. I thought maybe I was doing something wrong, but the big labels opened up just fine and I can edit them with no trouble. Any suggestions? Thanks so much!

This is an issue with your computer. You probably have to save them as a different file name or enable saving. It really depends on your computer.

Will you be creating the library organization labels in the primary polka dot colors? I would really love to purchase these if I could get them in the primary polka dots. I'm down to the wire and your labels are perfect! Thanks!

I am working on those this weekend. As you can see, responding to my Q&A's has been very time consuming :( I am trying. I have two pages done.

When I try to print the labels, they do not line up with the labels. They are too high. Suggestions or is there a fix?

I added the Word file of the labels so that you could adjust it or change your printer settings to match. Please, re-download.

I am trying to print the mini labels on Avery 5160 as suggested, but they are not lining up correctly at all. Do you know how I can fix this?

Also, I did a screen shot of my own created label (thanks for the blank templates!), and then inserted that image into a Word label document. I then copied and pasted that screen shot over and over to fill up the entire sheet of labels. On my screen, I see a full sheet of labels ready to go. But when I print, it only prints the first one and the rest of the label sheet is blank. Any clue as to what I am doing wrong?

Thank you for your help!

When I try to print the labels, they are not lining up correctly. All the labels are off centered. Suggestions?

When I print the labels, they don't print correctly. They are printing with half of the words on the label, and some of the pictures are cut off. It's like the labels aren't the right ones, even though I'm using the Avery ones you said we needed.

HI!! First of all, I love your work!! I have purchased almost all of your primary polka dot items so far! :) I also purchased your bright polka dot library labels! Unfortunately, I am having trouble downloading the editable power point from the link you provided in the pdf file. When I download it, I get a message from google that says there is no preview available, but I download it anyway... it just opens the original pdf file I already opened. Can you help me with this?? THANK YOU!!! :)

Erica do you by any chance have the following bright polka dot book labels for the following books?
-Magic Tree House, Junie B Jones, Cam Jansen, Horrible Harry, Dr. Seuss, Puppy Place, or could you by any chance name all the labels you have and do you have blank copies?

As always love your stuff!

We cannot use copyrighted images for products for sale or for free on TpT. So for example, I could not include a label for Junie B. Jones using a Googled image. That is not to say that you cannot create your own for your own personal use. So to help with this, I added editable blank labels and directions on how to add text and create small labels. The labels I have included in the packet are along the lines of NonFiction Animal Books, Colors, Insects, Weather, Fall, etc.

Avery 8460 or Avery 5160 for the small ones. Just use cardstock paper for the big ones.
