If you allow students to take home their guided reading books, then you know its bound to happen that they are forgotten at home. These bookmarks can help serve as reminders to both students and parents to return their book(s) to the classroom. My students like having a reminder that they help create (they copy the book title onto the lines and sign it). There are two 'return' designs and both come in color and black and white.
I've found that parents are more likely to let this bookmark-sized paper capture their attention - and it works! In addition to the reminders, I've included four bookmarks that are perfect for sending home in a leveled book. Bookmarks can be marked for rereading, finishing reading, practicing a sight word, writing rhyming words, or finding a set item. You decide what the objective is!
Use these to extend your students learning at home! You can differentiate a bookmark for every child during a guided reading group to take home, or you can run a copy with a set activity prior to your lesson. Using a simple check mark format, even students can help fill these out in a pinch! There are four 'practice' bookmarks and all come in color and black and white.
