Though it's hard to tear kids away from this story, here are focus questions, vocabulary puzzles and worksheets, poetry connections, and a quiz and novel test. Answer key included for the quiz and test only.
A tutorial for Figures of Speech is included as well as a lesson using figures of speech from the novel.
Suggestions for further reading and an essay assignment complete this 37 page study unit.
As I was working on using commas with restrictive elements, I included my lesson on that.

This was fantastic! I used every page! I was teaching the novel in a summer school class for 7th and 8th graders. They loved the puzzles, especially. We even did them on the Smartboard. I loved the focus questions, the short writes, and the final novel test. I must tell you that this is the best study guide for a novel that I have ever purchased! I will be using this book with my regular school classes come September. Thank you for a great product! (PS This is the first digital download I've ever purchased, too, and I've been teaching for 25 years!)

Why do all the materials seem to be only for the beginning of the novel? The test is too brief and there is no quiz beyond chapter 7. I thought that I was paying for quizzes and tests. Too many questions is better than not enough. Questions can be deleted if necessary.
