This powerpoint includes 5 vocabulary words from the story Caleb's Story by Patricia MacLachlan. This story is the last in the Sarah, Plain and Tall series. Each vocabulary word is given with the definition, the page number it is on in the book, and a picture if possible. The powerpoint also includes a Guess the Covered Word game. In this game, a sentence is given with the vocabulary word as a blank. The students make guesses using their context clues as to what they think the word might be. The next slide then has the same sentence and it shows the first letter in the word. The students can alter thier guesses at this point if necessary. Finally the sentence is shown in full, with the correct vocabulary word in the blank. This is provided for each vocabulary word.
