**UPDATED for 2012-2013 school year** This is a calendar journal that your students can complete whole group (while engaged in calendar math) or independently at a workstation. Students are required to test what they know and highlight the day of the week, month of the year, and the year itself. Afterwards, students will record the day of the month...numerically and in tally marks. They will also write the number of days in school and illustrate the weather! It's fun for them because they are using highlighters and others tools to complete the journal...and great for you, because you can assess what they know!
This is great! I white out taped the name portion and use it whole group during calendar time with my class. I laminated it and use a dry erase marker for daily use!
Thanks for sharing. It is always nice to switch up a routine to keep my students on their toes!

Great idea for a workstation. I think I will add it to my write the room literacy station. This will give my students a few different options of what to do during center time. Thank you!

Is there a way that I could get a copy of this with 2013 & 2014? I am trying to get things sent in for next year already. Thanks! Looking forward to using this!

Could you put the place value section horizontally instead of vertically and add a line at the bottom for "The temperature is ________."?
Hey Owlchic! Can you email me and I'll send you a copy for you to altar to fit your needs? :) I'd be happy to share and let you adjust accordingly! Just email me at erinee21@aol.com.
Thanks!
