I have modified the beginning of the year response sheet (Listed on TPT)to spiral in additional common core requirements and add more challenging concepts. For the solve me lily pads...I put up an addition problem with 4 2-digit addends and the 2nd solve me is usually a 3-digit subtraction problem.
Money...I now put up two sets of coins that the children need to determine the value of, AND THEN they must either subtract the two sets or add them to get a difference or sum.
For the time lily pad I will either use the Judy clock and just have them write the digital time or I will pose a math word problem for elapsed time that they must solve.
I have them printed both sides and the children use the only two sheets per week. They keep the paper in their 'unfinished' work folder for Monday and Tuesday and then get a new sheet for Wednesday and Thursday. Fridays we orally explain, no written work for calendar.
Hope you can use it!
Sincerely,
LovinTeachin2

I've been teaching in a public school for 7 years. I was in first grade for two years and this is my 5th year in 2nd. I absolutely LOVE this age and grade! I love creating an engaging and FUN atmosphere in my classroom.
