Do you have a Promethean Activboard and looking for ways to make the most of it but don't have the time to create your own calendar flipcharts - if you answered YES! then this is the product for you.
To get a taste and play with this please download the PREVIEW. It is a live (but limited) version of the first month. You can use it but cannot edit or save (for that you will need to purchase it).
What you will find:
1. August 2013 thorugh July 2014 Calendars - these include songs for the months of the year and days of the week. It allows you to write in the day in number format as well as in written format. You will be able to easily drag copies of the days for "Yesterday was...., Today is...., Tomorrow will be..." There is of course a calendar where you can drag image icons to create a pattern (just like we do with paper versions) and links where you can chart everyone's birthday as well as drag a note to show birthdays.
2. New this year is a section where you can "Count the Days". This is similar to the place value pocket charts. In this version you/or your students record the day, then build it using base ten rods for Ones, Tens, Hundreds. They can also practice notation and writing equivalent equations.
3. There is another page for each month called Weather Graphing. Your students can graph the weather for each month using a variety of options (drag an icon picture, color in the graph, or write in the graph).
4. There is a link to a Birthday Chart so you and/or your students can chart everyones birthdays.
Finally, I have created many flipcharts most of my learning has been by trial and error. To make it easier for you to navigate, edit, etc. this comes as a zip file with a resource page that gives you tips on the various icons and tools (with pictures) in case you are new to the Activboard and ActivInspire. In addiiton, each page in the flipchart has extensive NOTES so support is merely a click away. I also list my email address in case you have questions or feedback.
I hope you and your students have fun with this way of doing calendars. I welcome feedback and ideas so please send them my way via the Feedback and Q&A section here at TpT or via my email address which is listed in both the PREVIEW and the DOWNLOADED product.
There's MORE...when you purchase this you get the next year's for free -- I update these every July, so when July 2014 rolls around, you will get a notice that the file has been updated and VOILA, you will have next year's calendars as well.
Have a great new school year - thanks for stopping by and checking this out.
Note: Updated on 9/2/2013 (fixed the glitch where the month got erased when students went to erase the date from the previous day - I also enable the months in case you want to move them (although now that the eraser feature is working there is no need to move the months unless you want to. I also realized January was missing - yikes! All is well now - thanks for your patience!)
