Students will love being part of a classroom government! This is a fun way to get students familiar with California's government while also practicing math and money skills. The students choose an office to run for, then engage in an election process that closely mimics the true steps in becoming part of California's government. It includes background information, candidate processing forms, certificates of participation, CA Cash, and even a detailed descriptions of a Bank and Store management system that could be used to tie it all together. In addition to simulating California's government, this program also incorporates the following:
- Math and money skills
- Practice balancing checkbooks
- Problem solving and rule setting
- Classroom job assignments
- Supplements SRA Open Court's unit on Dollars and Sense
