These gold rush activities are designed to improve the critical thinking, creative thinking, communication, research skills, and affective thinking of your students. This is a great resource for use in the regular classroom, and is also terrific for use with gifted and talented students. Activities highlight a number of Gold Rush events and include a student learning log, comprehension passages, enrichment extensions, writing activities, notetaking resources, classroom creative fun, etc. It also highlights America's first Gold Rush in Dahlonega, GA. My students loved this. It aligned with our weekly text perfectly. This helped my students become experts on the gold rush. We didn't complete the whole thing due to time, just hand-picked about six lessons.

The unit is just what I was looking for. The topic is incorporated into various subjects. The lessons can be modified to one's preference which I love because many lesson plans cannot be modified to fit style of teaching or overall goal. Will return if I need to.
