This unit features Cam Jansen and the Mystery of the Stolen Diamonds in which Cam and her sidekick Eric witness the robbery of a jewelry store. When no one else seems able to identify the well-disguised thief, Cam steps in to solve the case. The book features 8 chapters, and I have provided a response sheet to go with each one. Each response sheet begins with a list of vocabulary words the teacher may wish to introduce before reading. Following them are two questions designed to help the reader predict what might happen in that chapter. I have included a Connect 2 vocabulary worksheet that may be used to introduce the words and start this discussion. After reading, there are several questions that can serve as the basis for more discussion or be answered in writing as an assessment of the student�s comprehension. When they are finished with the book students may compare themselves to Cam on a Character Comparison worksheet and summarize what happened in the story by filling in a Mystery Map. An answer key is included at the end of the unit. It is my intention that this unit will make the reading experience more meaningful for the student and easier for the teacher. Enjoy!
