Camping Contractions

This is a small group/center grammar activity that was created to practice with contractions. It is a "camping" theme, with an image on each word and contraction card. This packet includes a cover page, Contractions Sorting Mat, directions, answer key, 10 pages of word cards with 6 cards per page, and 5 pages of contractions with 6 cards per page. This is a total of 27 contractions.

Words and contractions include:
1. let + us = let's
2. is + not = isn't
3. she + is = she's
4. he + is = he's
5. has + not = hasn't
6. you + have = you've
7. did + not = didn't
8. do + not = don't
9. will + not = won't
10. you + will = you'll
11. I + will = I'll
12. I + am = I'm
13. I + have = I've
14. she + will = she'll
15. he + will = he'll
16. they + will = they'll
17. would + not = wouldn't
18. would + have = would've
19. are + not = aren't
20. that + is = that's
21. could + not = couldn't
22. could + have = could've
23. does + not = doesn't
24. was + not = wasn't
23. should + not = shouldn't
24. should + have = should've
24. were + not = weren't
25. we + have = we've
26. they + have = they've
27. we + are = we're

I recommend putting this in a file folder and laminating all of the cards and storing them in a pocket. You could print more than one set/mat so many students can participate in the center.
