The Canon is based on Pachelbel's Canon in D. Here, it is in the key of C and arranged for a guitar trio to suit beginner guitar players. This arrangement allows players of varying skill level to perform together in an ensemble situation. It also works very well in the music classroom for a group activity and performance.
The zipped file contains:
-The arrangement with both standard notation and TAB
-The arrangement with standard notation only
-Part 1 only
-Part 2 only
-Part 3 only
Guitar 1 is the well known bass riff that beginning students would be able to play immediately. Guitar 2 is the melody line and Guitar 3 is a finger picking accompaniment which could be played by more advanced students or the teacher. This arrangement helps to build listening skills, rhythmic accuracy and general confidence in group playing, which are especially essential to all musicians. TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I have been teaching music privately and in high schools and colleges for over twenty-six years. My main areas of teaching in the class room are general music, keyboard, guitar and vocals/choir. Currently I am teaching composition and music history to senior tertiary students, the Music Industry course, two Rock and Pop units and a Vocal unit. I am also responsible for the annual College musical ( producer, musical director and vocal coach) and I run an exta curricular SATB a cappella choir. Life is VERY busy and full of music and I love it!
