A worksheet listing the pilgrims from The Canterbury Tales and requiring students to add descriptions from the text. Then students need to determine a relative "current day" position for each pilgrim. Ultimately there is a creative writing assignment in which the students must write about their particular pilgrim from a modern day perspective using a style and tone in keeping with Chaucer's original depiction. Oral presentations of this assignment have always been captivating.
I had a hard time manipulating the document which came out on the very left side of the page. A short grading rubric with more criteria for their writing would have been useful.

My apologies - as far as the document format is concerned, I feel it as an issue myself. Rich text format doesn't seem to translate textually in all platforms.
I hear you on the rubric/criteria issues; I will create an addition based on how I used the activity. My initial thought was to provide a "data base" kind of starting point, but I am happy to add what I did with the info...I had some fabulous student responses.

I usually have the students fill out the sheet based on their own perceptions, but I do have a hard copy in my files. Give me a couple days to type the responses because they are currently handwritten. Send me your email, and I'll get it to you next week.
