Use these 32 task cards to help reinforce capitalization rules and to practice proofreading. These cards are meant to be used as practice after students have been taught capitalization rules.
The multiple choice format makes these cards ideal for test prep. A student answer sheet and answer key is also included so that students can check their work. These task will work well for at an ELA center, for stations, for partner work, or with the whole class using a game like Scoot.
These cards will look best in color, but will also print out fine in grayscale. Simply print and cut along the dotted guidelines. Laminate and use them again and again. Alternatively, you could print on cardstock. It works well to keep them in a baggie. Another option is to hole-punch a corner of each card and put them all on a ring.
Addresses the following Common Core Standard:
L.4.2. Demonstrate command of the conventions of standard English capitalization, punctuation, and spelling when writing.
Use correct capitalization.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
Most of my teaching experience is with gifted and talented students in grades 2-4, though I have worked with children of all ages in general education classrooms as well. A few years ago I stopped teaching in order to write nonfiction children's books full time. Gradually over the last couple of years, my career has switched from writing to creating teaching materials here on Teacher Pay Teacher.
