I do the carnival/fair unit during the first week that the state fair comes to our city. It helps to build background knowledge for students who have never been and make them a part of the conversations that will follow for the next few weeks. The following activities are art, writing, and science activities that I use during center time and during small group rotations. Each day my students do an art activity that relates to the unit and writing to follow. I do not give my students traced shapes to use to put the insects together; rather, I hang an example on the board and provide each child with the right colored paper. This makes each students work unique. It helps them develop visual problem solving skills, fine motor skills, and sequencing practice!!
Thanks but I was disappointed it was just pictures of ideas and no activities or lesson ideas.

I was a little disappointed in this. I thought there would be more activities. There were a lot of pictures but not a lot of actual lesson plans/activities.
