A colorful, clear, and concise PowerPoint presentation of 115 slides introducing Cause and Effect essay writing followed by two different quizzes. Each slide follows the 6x6 rule of no more than 6 lines with 6 words in each line (well almost!) in an easy to see type for even those students sitting in the back row. It covers main and contributory causes, causal chains,transitions,thesis statements, organization, and post hoc reasoning. The two quizzes following include answers that the students can correct themselves. The second quiz is great for students absent during the first quiz. I use this Presentation in my college classes with success. I have expanded it quite a lot and have made every attempted to proofread for all errors including visual accuracy. If you find any errors, please post a note and I will revise and you will be able to download the corrected copy. I would also appreciate positive feedback for others to read. The Preview should give you a good overview of the content. Hope you like it.

I have 35 years experience teaching English and Math in public, private schools and college. I have a MA in Reading, and credentials in English, Reading and mathematics. I have taught 6th grade through college. My emphasis has been on critical thinking skills, problem solving, literature and writing. My activities are often student centered.
