This unit is written to use for 25 weeks, focusing on one trait per week, answering one or two questions per day. About 10-20 minutes per day.
I wrote a vignette for each trait using experiences I had with students. There are questions for students to answer and activities for students to do independently or with a partner(group). The vignettes will lead to discussions with your class, help you get to know your students better, and help them to take a deeper look at themselves.
The character traits covered are: A Good Citizen, A Good Listener, A Good Sport, Brave, Careful, Caring, Cheerful, Cooperative, Courteous, Dependable, Fair, Friendly, Fun, Helpful, Honesty, Likeable, Obedient, Polite, Popular, Respectful, Responsible, Smart, Thoughtful, Trustworthy, and Understanding.
Save their papers all year in a folder and put them together to send home at the end of the year. Parents and students enjoy reading their thoughts from the whole year again and again! One parent told me she kept it on the coffee table to read with her child:)
