This is a character study graphic organizer. It allows for words as well as pictures, and is a great culmination activity for a novel if used as a poster. It is also a pre-writing activity if you are asking for an essay analyzing a character.
This graphic organizer can be used with any multi-dimensional character in a novel. I often assign each child in my reading group a different character to focus on during the novel, and we analyze aspects of their personality. You can easily change the categories if you need to.
Great way for my third grade students to be thoughtful about characterization. Thank you for the useful tool.

I've been teaching since 2000. I taught sheltered 6th grade in a low-income district near Chicago for 4 years, and 3rd and 4th grade for two years. I also taught 2nd and 3rd grade summer school. I earned National Board Certification in 2008. I currently work as an ESL/ELL specialist teacher for K-5. I do both small group (pull-out) teaching as well as co-teaching in regular classrooms.
