This set includes everything you need to teach a check writing and unit. Students also learn how to add deposits and subtract debits on the check ledger pages.
4 components to this set:
1) Students learn the components of acceptable checks through an active engagement group concept attainment activity where they analyze 16 checks and decide if the checks are written correctly or not – 8 pages - PDF format
2) There are 5 check writing and check book ledger balancing worksheets with answer keys. – 10 pages - PDF format
3) Also included are 4 end of unit tests so you can have multiple tests in use or it allows multiple opportunities to show proficiency. Students must fill out a check from information given on a check ledger and balance the check ledger. 8 pgs – PDF format
4) 16 colorful checks + 4 black/white tests in MS Word format so you can type right into them - 5 pages - MS Word format
These math lessons I created are classroom tested and have been improved every year I’ve used them.

I'm in my 33rd year of teaching and I continue to love what I do! This year I am an Academic Achievement Specialist for my district, assisting teachers K-12 with implementation of our standards-based grade book and report card system. Up until this year, I've taught fourth grade but I've also taught fifth and sixth grades, first grade, middle school math, at-risk high schoolers, journalism and computers.
