After receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from California State University at San Jose, Dr. Thiel earned a Graduate Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Arts in Educational Psychology and Counseling Guidance from California State University at Northridge. She completed her education with a PhD in Psychology from the University of Southern California. Dr. Thiel has had several papers published in psychological journals, as well as the book she collaborated with her late husband on, “When Your Child Isn’t Doing Well in School”, (Contemporary Books). She is a clinical member of both the California and American Psychological Associations, and is also affiliated with The California, American, and International Associations of Marriage, Family & Child Counselors, as well as The Los Angeles County Psychological Association. She holds licenses in both Psychology and Marriage, Family & Child Therapy. Currently, Dr. Thiel maintains a prolific private practice in Malibu, California.
