Chocolate Fever is written by Robert Kimmel Smith. It is equivalent to a 4.8 reading level, but can be used for lower grades as well with the teacher's assistance. This would be a great novel unit for the whole class, or for a reading group.
This novel unit includes:

-Make a Cure for Henry Craftivity with templates and writing page
-Make a book cover with template
-Text to Self Connection: H-Chart and Venn Diagram Flap-book
-Predictions Graphic Organizer
-Bubble Map
-Fact/opinion sort
-Sort Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives
-Cause and Effect blank
-Cause and Effect with Causes written
-Problem and Solution Graphic Organizer
-Text to Text Connection for A Bad Case of Stripes (venn Diagram)
-Writing Prompt Page
-making words
-The Cure Graphic Organizer
My kiddos felt so smart doing this book study. My principal bought every kid a copy to encourage their effort. I was really pleased with how everything turned out!

I was looking for more discussion questions and perhaps a suggested timeline or novel unit type setup. This is full of cutesy activities but doesn't really probe the students to deepen their understanding of the text. Disappointed I spent the money!

This unit was FABULOUS!!!! My students loved it! It made my life as a teacher so EASY:) Thank you!
What grades is this best for? I am a parent (former teacher) and want to use it for my 2 kids 10 (4th grade) and 7 (1st grade) before we go on a summer family vacation to Hershey, PA (summer 2013). Do you think it will be too much for the 1st (close to 2nd grade by then). My 1st grader read on a middle of the school year 2nd grader currently. Any advice would be great.
The activities can be used with both grade levels. You might have to guide your younger kiddos with the reading. I read the story out loud to my students and then they complete the activities on their own. Hope that helps!
Hello! I am just trying to get started with the selling process on here. I know some of my materials are very usable, but I'm looking for ways to make them "cuter" and more appealing looking. Just wondering if you could give me any pointers on the programs you use and where you get your free-use images. Any help would be great! Thanks!
I use Power Point to make everything. My fonts are from Kevin and Amanda. My clip art is either Scrappin' Doodles, KPM Doodles, or things I find on Etsy normally. Hope that helps!
