This file includes 23 pages of photographs, anchor chart headings, fluency passages, and response sheets to launch a Chris Van Allsburg Author Study. I have also included lesson plans for your convenience.
I am so sorry to hear that! I have used this with my third graders several times, and I have found that it is the perfect fit for my kiddos! They have fun with it, and they always learn so much! :)
I love this unit. I really enjoy doing author studies, and this will be a great addition to my stuff! Thanks so much!

Just got this and can't wait to use it in the library. When the third graders begin reading Two Bad Ants in the classroom, this will be nice to support what teachers are teaching in the classroom with the same author and skills but with different text. I'm the media specialist btw

I just wanted to share that Chris Van Allsburg has a great site with teacher resources if you wanted more information. Students also enjoy exploring it.
Hi Amanda- I am planning to buy this unit- I checked your blog and saw you have a couple of additions you would send if requested. I would love them- my email is mstolarik@musd.net- thank you!
I just emailed them! I hope you like them! Sorry for the delay. Things have been hectic lately. :)

I purchased your Chris VanAllsburg Author Study- it's great! In the description, you said you included lesson plans- are these the pages where you wrote a summary after each book title, or is there something else I didn't see? I am trying to figure out a sequence and pacing that will work with my schedule and was hoping to see how long you took for each lesson, and how many days you spent on each book.
Thank you so much in advance for your help!
Hi! The lesson plans are included. They aren't extremely detailed as far as pacing and sequence goes, to be honest. They are written more as a narrative with photographs. You can access them in the files called "Chris Van Allsburg Author Study Ideas" and "Chris Van Allsburg Lessons". The lessons were the summaries. I wrote specific steps for each lesson through the narrative descriptions. These were straight from my lesson plan book. I hope that helps!
