Christmas - A Creative Collection of Engaging Activities

-The Night Before Christmas Graphic Organizer - students use this graphic organizer to help them summarize important events from the poem.

-The Night Before Christmas Script Writing and Classroom Presentations -Students use the included graphic organizer to summarize the main events of the poem, and then write scripts retelling the poem. When complete, students present their plays to the class! Rubric included!

-Winter Wishes -Students use this graphic organizer to write about and illustrate wishes they have for themselves, their families, and their world. These make a beautiful and inspiring classroom display, and are a great way to learn about your students!

-Holiday Journal Starters -a list of journal starters relating to the holiday season. These can be used at the beginning or end of a lesson, as homework, or as extension activities!

-Holiday Story Writing -students use words taken from "The Night Before Christmas" to write their own holiday tales. Word list included!

-Holiday Menu Descriptive Writing Activity -students use their descriptive writing skills to write about a mouthwatering holiday menu!

-Christmas Cubes - students brainstorm their favorite things about the holiday season, and write about and illustrate them on 3D cubes. Completed cubes can be stacked into a Christmas tree shape, or hung ornament style from the ceiling or class tree! These make gorgeous classroom displays! 3D cube template included!

-Family Tradition Ornaments -Students brainstorm their family holiday traditions, and write about and illustrate them on paper ornaments. This is an excellent reflection activity that makes a great door or hallway display!
