Trying to get some extra rhythmic and melodic practice in before the holidays? Try this fun light/ornament powerpoint.
This PowerPoint uses a "decked-out" Christmas tree in which each ornament is linked to a rhythm slide and each light is linked to a melody slide. This can be used as an assessment or a fun practice acitvity.
This file pracitces:
Rhythmic concepts:
* Ta (quarter note)
* Ti-ti (eight notes)
* Rest
* Tika-tika (sixteenth Notes)
* Ti-tika (eighth-sixteenth-sixteenth)
* Tika-ti (sixteenth-sixteenth-eighth)
* Syn-co-pa (eighth-quarter-eighth)
Melodic concepts:
* so-mi
* la
* do
* re
* high do
The melodic pages can easily be altered to meet your spefici needs.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Subject Area:
I've been teaching elementary music since 1998. I taught for three years in the Salem-Keizer School district before returning home to Colorado. I have been teaching in the St. Vrain Valley School district since 2001. I am currently teaching at Red Hawk Elementary where I teach preschool-5th grade general music, 4/5 choir, 4/5 drum ensemble, a 4th grade tone-chime choir and a 5th grade tone-chime choir.
