This play "Christmas Spirit - The Conversion of Mrs Scrooge" can be used either as a class performance or for an entire year group - of two to three classes. The Spirit of Christmas Past Present and Future sets out to 'convert' the miserable Mrs Scrooge, a school teacher, via her students but is eventually defeated .. by them! Hi Sarah The actual reading text for this assembly/class play is very brief - it can be read through in about five minutes. It is really there to introduce the carols - of which there are 13! So, obviously depending on how many verses sung from each carol, the time varies greatly from around 15 minutes to however long it takes to sing all of the verses of all the carols - should you wish! I taught in the U.K. for 15 years - temporary and permanent positions plus supply/substitute teaching. I taught all year groups at primary/elementary level and have done some substitute teaching since arriving in the USA. My degree was in History so I always particularly enjoyed teaching this subject, and creating class plays/assemblies around what I was teaching in the classroom - whether it be Ancient Egyptians or King Henry VIII and his Six Wives!
