This project allows math students to not only construct and analyze circle graphs, but to create and conduct a survey on a topic that they are interested in. The download includes: 1) a direction sheet with examples of questions and possible responses the students could ask as well as the requirements for the final project, a poster with a graph, fraction, deciaml and percent chart, and a analysis paper, 2) A chart to help students organize their questions and responses so they can convert their fractions, decimals and percents easier and 3) a scoring guide that can be used to grade the final project. I have also used this lesson as an interdisciplinary unit with social studies, science or language arts in which the students' questions relate to the other core subject and the graph construction and analysis is completed in my math class.

Help
I have been teaching 7th and 8th graders mathematics in a public school setting since 1999. I also take part teaching incoming 8th graders in a "math institute" each summer.
