This Civil Right graphic organizer comes with TWO Smart Board organizers. The first organizer is labeled with Brown vs. Board of Education, Civil Rights Act, the Montgomery Bus Boycott, and a couple more Civil Right Movements. The second graphic organizer (use must click on the blue right hand arrow in Smart Board in order to open) list three major Civil Right Leaders: Thurgood Marshall, Rosa Parks, and Martin Luther King Jr.
Your students can use SS book, notes, or online resources to brainstorm facts to complete each section. I like to use the jigsaw method and have each group come up with 3-5 important facts about each title. They all gather afterwards and share facts with the teacher. The teacher writes the fact on smart board and students copy in SS journal.
