Need a valid set of Class Rules? These are good for any middle or high school class. No arbitrary rules. These are general guidelines for respect. Classroom procedures are not addressed, as those vary from teacher to teacher.
Pass out a set of the Student Responsibilities. Have student volunteers read them aloud. Consider a treat or bonus points for readers. Then pass out your Guidelines Quiz. They get to use the Student Responsibility sheet to answer the questions. Will each student make 100% Yes! Students are happy about their first grade being an A. You collect those excellent grades, and now you have documentation in each student's own handwriting that he or she was aware of the class rules for respect.
Also included are reminders lists, so that when a student doesn't meet the mark, he can be brought to awareness by writing the rule broken. All you do is remind him he broke number 7, and to write it for you.
Inspirational Posters are also included to help us all be positive about the need for personal responsibility and respect for others.
