This zipped file contains 3 separate files: a Notebook file for the Smartboard/interactive whiteboard and 2 pdf files. The interactive whiteboard file consists of 10 interactive strategy games based on ancient and classic board games designed to be played on a Smartboard, Mimio, Promethean board, or other interactive whiteboard device. Games include Hnefetafl, Seega, Reversal Solitaire, Senet, Roundabouts, Tac Tix, Halma, Fox and Geese, Shut the Box, and Nine Men's Morris. The games can be used as math centers, rainy day activities, early finisher activities, substitute teacher activities, time fillers, etc. They are excellent for teaching logical thinking, math skills, critical thinking, and strategy skills. The pdf files contain printable directions for playing the game, a research or report form for students to research the history, origins, and variations of the game, and a chart including a brief history of each game. I have been a special education teacher since 1998. I currently teach a self-contained cross categorical class of 3rd through 5th graders. I have also taught k-6 resource classes and self-contained classes in the past. I currently teach in North Carolina, but I taught for 4 years in Texas.
