This set contains 2 of the main components in the aqua/lime/yellow classroom decor set:
1) Classroom Alphabet: Use for traditional display, word walls, or in a literacy center.
2) Study Buddy desk tags: These are name tags and so much more! From the first day of school, encourage your early finishers to use their Study Buddies to practice counting on the number line and hundred chart (to 100, even numbers, odd numbers, counting by 5s or 10s, etc.), recite the alphabet, keywords, and sounds, count up and back on the number line, etc.
Refer your students back to their Study Buddies
frequently, and soon they will have built the good habit of using time wisely, while also practicing to strengthen their basic skills. The keywords on the mini-alphabet chart (on the Study buddy) match those on the alphabet cards, to help build a consistent mental reference.

I've been teaching for 26 years, with the majority of my experience being in first grade. I taught Reading Recovery for 5 years, and that experience has impacted every day of my teaching since! For the past 10 years, I've enjoyed teaching a first grade literacy intervention class. It has also been my privilege to present various workshops on literacy topics at the local, state, and national level. My goal is to ignite a passion for reading and writing in young learners.
