These numbers are correlated with expectations in the classroom. When students break a rule they are given a number for that rule. I use it in addition to my classroom economy. Giving numbers for specific rules make it easier to document specific instances, communicate with parents, and keep documentation for the year. I keep a class roster on a clip board, and I am able to quickly write down their number. Then weekly I prepare reports to be sent home to parents explaining their behavior for the week.

TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Grades Taught:

I have been teaching for 7 years now. I started teaching 4th grade in the middle of a school year. My second year teaching I taught a class of "at-risk students". (Students that were at risk of failing.) After 3 years, I got my MaED with a concentration in Academically/Intellectually Gifted students (AIG). I taught AIG for one year, and found that my love was still in the classroom. I missed teaching a diverse group of children. I am now back to teaching 4th grade. I also work with our school's news cast.
