Hello! I created this tiered set of closed syllable activities in order to help my students practice identifying closed syllables in a fun way. In this activity the students will help figure out which pirate finds the buried treasure.
The first activity allows students to practice identifying 1-syllable closed words. The second activity mirrors the first, but it incorporates multisyllabic words for your students that are ready for a challenge. These tiered activities allow your students to practice the same skill of identifying closed syllables, but at two different levels. You can also use them together as whole group, classwork, homework, etc.
The activity pack includes:
-letter to customer
-cover sheet
-2 worksheets for activity 1
-5 pages of cards (for use of activity 1 as a center if you choose)
-answer key
-2 worksheets for activity 2
-5 pages of cards (for use of activity 1 as a center if you choose)
-answer key
-center direction sheet
*This is also available as single activities if one is too easy or too hard for the skill you are looking for.

This is my fourth year teaching third grade although I have been working work children over a decade. I have taught multiple grade levels between pre-k and 6th. I have also taught general education classes, inclusion classes, and I usually have the ELLs in my classes as well.
