Clothespin Spelling 2 - PowerPoint is a fun time-filler! Say you have 10 extra minutes...what to do? Well, click on Clothespin Spelling 2 PPT and have students drag letters up to form the spelling words they are studying that week.
Many of you are already familiar with Clothespin Spelling for the Smartboard. Clothespin Spelling 2 was designed for EVERYONE...for those WITHOUT Smartboards...and those who DO have Smartboards. I have read the feedback for Clothespin Spelling Version 1.1 - Smartboard and I have made various improvements to make spelling with your students even easier than it was before. Clothespin Spelling starts off with a couple of clothespins for those easy two-letter words and continues page by page with an additional clothespin until you can make words with 10 letters (or clothespins). Simply click on the number hanging by the clothespin to go back to the HOME screen where you will be able to choose from making two-letter words to making ten-letter words.
*Version 2 - So...what just has changed? First of all there are 12 beautifully designed pages that are linked with ease. Clothespin Spelling 2 IS a PowerPoint file. Having said that, a PPT allows you to add letters to the side of the slide in NORMAL view. How does this benefit you? Say you have a word like little...where you have two letter l's and t's used to make the word. You can easily copy and paste more of the same letters onto the same slide and drag out unused, unnecessary letters...to make space for the letters you will use. The letters are moveable. You can show Clothespin Spelling 2 in Normal view...or Slide show view. In Slide show view (where the presentation takes up the full screen) simply take the mouse...and click on the letter you want. Then...you will notice that the letter will follow or move with the cursor. When you come to the place on the clothesline where you would like to leave or pin your letter, simply click again (make sure it is a quick click or it will continue to follow your letter). Clothespin Spelling 2 is a Macro-Enabled Presentation...where a Visual Basic program or code is used. Visual Basic allows you to move or drag the letters in Slide show mode...which is really cool! Also...new is the design...the HOME page or first page allows you to get to the spelling word that you want to spell quickly and easily. Simply click on the number...and you will be taken to the page...for example, page 1 allows you to work on two-letter spelling words...and page 2 allows you to create three-letter spelling words...and so on. Clothespin Spelling 1 was limited to a few letters of the alphabet...whereas in each slide...Clothespin Spelling 2 has ALL the lowercase letters of the alphabet. Included is a Clothespin Uppercase page (#12) where you may copy and then paste uppercase letters onto other slides...thereby allowing your students to create even more specialized words. After #9 there is a LIGHT BULB. I chose a light bulb...as a symbol for ideas...you can create long, customizable spelling words on this page. All lowercase and uppercase letters are placed on this page. Feel free to edit it and add other letters if necessary.
*Remember any letters that you copy and paste on the slides will be placed in FRONT of the clothespins. Make sure you select (right click) the letters and then Send them Back (or behind the clothespins)...this way it gives the appearance that the letters are behind the clothespins.
*I have placed some default letters on each page, but you may change the letters for each page as you please. Choose only a few letters or select many depending on how challenging you want the letter selection to be.

David,
I love your clothespin powerpoints...I was wondering if you could add #'s through 200?
Or...could you give a blank tile that we can add text too? Or both?
Thanks! I look forward to purchasing several of your items through our PTA.
You mean...make like 200 pages in the powerpoint? I could definitely make a blank tile...that would be easy. Please email me...to explain what you mean by the #'s...ok? chapcolby@yahoo.com
Hello, I have downloaded the powerpoint, I am able to pick the letters up just fine, but when it is time to drop them it seems I have to click about a hundred times for it to stay. Is there something I am doing wrong?
I want my students to use it on my p. board but it doesn't seem like the tiles are staying in place.
Hello, What is a p. board? I was able to do it without a problem in the PowerPoint. Perhaps you have a sensitive mouse...but I recommend that you do a sharp, quick yet firm click with the mouse.
