Here are some fun activities to conduct during and after reading Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.
1. Use the Story that Hits the Spot worksheet to summarize the story. A completed example sheet has been filled in and included.
2. The Day it Rained Chocolate Pudding graphic organizer may be used after Cloudy with a Chance has been read. Students should use the story started and organizer to create a new story similar to Cloudy with a Chance.
3. Extra! Extra! May be used to conduct an interview with another student, in which one student is the reported and one is a resident of Chewandswallow. The interviewer should address how the resident felt before, during, and after the events which took place. Extra! Extra! May also be used in conjunction with #2 to write the final story.
