This Power Point Presentation is a non-linear Power Point that explains to students what types of businesses were common in Colonial America. It explains each type of business both visually and through writing. Some of the Colonial Businesses contained in this Power Point are an apothecary, barber, milliner, blacksmith, tavern owner and silversmith. There are a total of 12 businesses deliniated in this presentation. I have used this Power Point as a demonstration lesson, then had my students use it individually as a learning center activity, to take notes about various businesses common in Colonial America. I am also making available the organizer sheet I use when my students use this Power Point independently.

This is my 13th year teaching. I've taught 2nd grade for 6 years, and the rest of my time in 4th grade. I also own my own educational consulting business. My staff and I teach staff development workshops in school districts across Western New York.
