A fun way to get students to practice using commas by finding and fixing errors. It's a great activity for test prep and review, holidays, the last day or week of school, or other filler days.
I usually hate "test prep." But let's be honest: we all want to review a bit before sending our students into spring state tests to make sure they can do their best. "Comma Invasion" is a fun, interactive way for students to review comma rules. In the game, students will play in teams to find comma errors and use commas in example sentences.
"Comma Invasion" is intended to be used as a competitive game show, but it could also be used for a fun full-class activity or done with partners.
This PowerPoint game has over forty-five possible questions, complete with hundreds of fun, interactive animations, sound clips, and navigation buttons. NOTE that there is one font you will need to install to get the game to look like the preview pictures, which only takes a few seconds.
To get a quick taste of the game, download the FREE PREVIEW at the top of this page. You'll be able to see a sample of the first round of the game and get a feel for the how the menus and navigation work. (Note that because of the smaller file size in the preview, several music and sound clips that would be in the full download will not pe present.)
This game is just one in a series of fun test-prep review games. Check out the others:
