These assessments are complete for the entire year. These valid assessments measure growth from the beginning to the end of the kindergarten year. As they do not change from quarter to quarter, these vaild measurements will truly show your students' growth.
The document is designed for assessing the English/Language Arts standards in kindergarten. It lists every kindergarten common core standard and provides an assessment for each one. Different portions of the standards are addressed separately, so teachers and parents will know exactly what a student does and does not understand about each standard. It is constructed in a manner that student testing and recording documents are one.
One assessment form should be copied for each student. Due to the necessity of assessing students at regular intervals during the school year, the document provides a space to record information for different assessment periods. Adjust the grading columns to fit your school year format. (Quarter, Semester, Trimester) The last three pages of this document is a checklist that can be copied on cardstock and sent home to parents to report progress.

i just emailed you a seperate question regarding these assessment packets. i would love whatever advice you have to share with a new Kindergarten teacher. this will be my second year teaching. i always found difficult to assess each student on each individual task. i am hoping these assessment packets will help the process. do you have any advice on how to use these with a LARGE class? is this done daily, in small groups, how do you keep them organzied? etc. any advice is always greatful.

I was wondering how do you score the assessment. I saw suggested scoring on the packet to show below basic, basic, and proficient but how do you get those numbers. How much is each part worth?

The scoring is by percentage. 80 - 100 percent 79-60 and 59 and below.
