Common Core Expository News Writing Tutorial & Activities: A news writing presentation with several student activities and tons of examples and models for students.
When students go out into the "real world" they'll need to be able to write clearly and concisely, restating facts and analyzing data. News writing practices all the skills essential for "real world" writing. If this writing is not your area of expertise, don't worry. I have broken it down into simple steps and provided numerous examples to help anyone teach expository writing.
This bundle includes a 75-page teacher presentation (in Powerpoint, Keynote, Quicktime Movie, and Acrobat Reader PDF files) and a student file that can be shared electronically with your students (in Powerpoint, Keynote, and Acrobat Reader PDF files).
PLEASE NOTE: The presentation assumes students have already done research/interviews and have notes, ready to put into writing. If you need resources for how to interview sources, see my
News Writing Story Planning Handouts
If you purchased "After the Interview" Keynote
, you do NOT need to purchase this file. That file will be updated.
