Students read two different 120-word texts on having potbellied pigs as house pets. The articles have similarities and differences in facts and author's opinion. They then compare and contrast the important points and key details in the two texts in six multiple-choice questions. This is followed by a writing activity where they demonstrate knowledge and integrate information from the texts to write a persuasive paragraph.
Please see the PREVIEW, which shows the texts used for teaching the standard, to see if this printable might work for your students in meeting this key Common Core Standard. The printable has been left as a Word document so you can edit and adjust it if you wish.
