This product was designed to made the transition to and implementation of the Common Core Standards a little easier! This packet includes a one-page assessment for almost every reading and language standard. There are also rubrics for the writing standards and a checklist for the speaking and listening standards. You'll also find a Common Core Standards checklist for all of the language arts standards.
I love this!!!!!!! I wish I had known about teachers pay teachers earlier this year. I can't wait to use the checklists next year to keep track of when I teach the different strategies.

Do you have any suggestion of books to use? 3.RL.9-This assessment should be used for any two books within the same series
or written by the same author.
I don't worry about having the books from the same series as much as I do from the same author. Today, we're reading Bats at the Beach, and we've already read a few Bats at... books, and we're going to compare those books. For a chapter book, I highly recommend Gooney Bird Greene, and I love using Patricia Polacco for picture books.
Yes, but there is no way I can create it until this summer. That will take a good deal of time to make.
Thanks!!

For RI 3 and RI 7 you don't have an open ended assessment page, just the ones about rocks (RI3) and frogs (RI7). Is this a mistake or by design? Just wondering because I am using it (and loving it by the way) in class and need to give a summative assessment, which I usually do with the open ended page you provide, and I need to know whether or not to make one myself. Thanks!
Ashleigh, I love the 3rd Grade Common Core ELA Assessment package. Thought you'd like to know that on the page "My Favorites" 3.RL.10, the words "Operations and Algebraic Thinking" are at the top.
On page 46 of this .pdf, are you able to re-cut and paste your rubric so the green squiggle line (grammar in Word) is gone? I know seems nit-picky, just thought I'd ask! I love the product!
Thanks,
Lis
I totally understand! I'll do it asap and send a notification when I do.

I teach in California and wonder how these align with the California CCS? It looks good, but since I am new to CCS, I'd like to make sure I don't miss something. Thanks!
I'm not aware of one. I hope to make it this summer, but I won't be able to until I'm not in school:)

I was wondering if this Language Arts version has a checklist for the standards with the student names on it like you have in the Math version like this?
I've been teaching for 8 years and think I have the best job in the world! I've taught 3rd and 4th grades and love developing curriculum and activities for my students.
