I created this chart for my parents. I am using it in conferences to show the child's readiness for first grade as well as which standards they have mastered and which standards they need extra assistance. I added a section of behaviors our first grade teachers expect of their students. I put this file in a .doc version so you can modify this "First Grade" list as well as add any standards that are specific to your school. In the math column, a few standards are specific to our school and NOT part of the Common Core standards. Some are placed in brackets and others were added to the end. The columns are done so it is a double sided page with the columns continuing. If you have a suggestion as to how to change this to be more parent friendly, please let me know.
My parents have loved having this list. I really enjoy using it around conference time to show them how they are doing with the standards overall. They have all appreciated the individuality it encourages and it allows me to show how I differentiate with their child. I used a yellow highlighter if it was a weak area and a green to show they mastered it or we were on the right track.
My parents have greatly appreciated this. I also told them that for the standards we had not mastered yet, that the list would be a good guide for areas they can practice at home if they wanted.
