Common Core Standards Graphic Organizers for ELA Reading Literature and Informational Texts Grades 11-12 (Also includes the organizers for grades 6, 7, 8, and 9-10 because the skills build upon one another each year.)
Do you need to implement the Common Core Standards into your curriculum? These graphic organizers are written for each individual anchor standard for Reading Literature and Reading Informational (for non-fiction), grades 11-12, and will work for any piece of literature or non-fiction: short stories, plays, novels, poems, essays, speeches, articles, biographies, etc.. Just select an organizer for the literature or piece of non-fiction you are reading to practice that particular standard/skill. They are all labeled clearly with each standard.
This set includes 60+ different organizers for the 10 anchor standards in reading. It builds upon the organizers for previous grades (which cover similar, if not identical, anchor standards) and is customized for the additional practice for older students.
Skills practiced in the organizers include: inference (inferring), complex character analysis, theme and plot development, compare/contrast two different works of same subject matter, understanding of cultural experiences, figurative language meaning and purpose, point of view, role of character, understanding author's purpose and choices, how language affects the tone and meaning, how an author uses allusions, analysis of rhetorical devices, connotation, text structure, style, reasoning, delineation, and reading comprehension.
Additional handouts for the College and Career Readiness in History are also included. Students in advanced classes in 9th-10th grades may utilize these worksheets.
A multi-user site license is available. It is perfect for entire English and history departments who need to implement the common core standards into their curriculum. Click on the license button and choose how many you need to purchase. You will get the additional copies for a reduced price.

I only gave lower scores because I bought the grade 9-10 organizers and was expecting organizers more specific to the grade level and content that 11-12 graders might encounter only to find that the majority if not all the organizers were exactly the same as the 9-10 grade organizers. Otherwise the product is useful. I just would not have purchased them both had I known they were so similar.

Right now they are in PDF format only. I am working on transferring them over to Word (I use Mac's Pages) but I have to be careful with my copyright to secure those files and it is a tedious process. I'm hoping by Christmas I'll have those and my writing organizers complete in editable format. (If I didn't teach full time, it would be so much faster. Sorry!) Thanks for your interest, Jacqueline!

Basically, the 6,7,8 & the 9-10 are pretty similar. The 11-12 build on those, with an additional 22 organizers to cover the little differences in wording for the reading (both literature & informational) standards. You only need to purchase one or the other; the 11-12 is your best buy because it covers every single standard from grade 6-12. The 6,7,8 will cover 6-8 standards and a couple that carry over to 9-10 (because they are identical). The 9-10 covers every standard from 6-10th grade. Does that even make sense? I'm sorry--I know it's confusing. The reading standards are so similar with slight variations. So many of them can be used for multiple grades. Makes me wish they had just done one set of standards for 6-8 and one set for 9-12. It would have saved a lot of time!
