I just made some posters for the I CAN STATEMENTS as you requested! Hope you like them! I'm using them in my class this year on a pocket chart. I'll post some pictures soon. Thank you! ;)
I was just curious why you're selling this copy of the Core Standards which copyright infringes the original? You can download the original at www.corestandards.org. Your product is word for word from that document, with the exception of adding "I can." You may want to check into copyright rules, because just adding 2 words and some clipart doesn't make it an original item. It's really disappointing to see an educator charging $8.00 for something that is given away for free.
I'm really sorry, but I did change the CCSS much more than adding just an "I can" to it. In many of the standards, I changed words to easier ones that I felt my kids would understand better. I also rearranged some of the sentences to make it a little easier to understand since they were very wordy. I did leave some standards the same as the original because I felt that those were simple enough to understand and did not want to alter it too much from the original. I hope that you realize that I did spend quite a bit of time on this going over the Common Core Standards and translating them into an easier format for myself and for my students. I also spent lots of time arranging it in a cuter format which is what many of my fellow teachers requested. I did not realize I would be violating copyright laws since I noticed many other sellers on TPT selling exact copies of the CCSS with clip art. My main goal was to share the work that I did in making the CCSS easier to digest since I had some difficulty with it. I also did rewrite the 8 Mathematical Principles completely(not just adding "I can" to it) to what I felt they were trying to say. That alone took me a very long time to figure out and I do not want others thinking that I just copied it from the original. I do hope that you will take a closer look at my products so you can see for yourself that it is not an exact copy. Please note that one set is my I can statements that I changed, and the other set is the exact copy in case one needed to refer to the original CCSS. I just wanted to create something that would make a teacher's life easier. I did not want to upset or disappoint anyone and so I'm sorry you feel that way. Please do look at it again. I may not have changed the CCSS completely, but I did change it and put a lot of effort into it.
