Common Core Language Standard L.3.1c: Use abstract nouns (e.g., childhood).

Abstract nouns are a challenge for students to recognize and use. This printable is designed to address the Common Core Standard on abstract nouns.
First, students are introduced to what abstract nouns are in an understandable way. Using what they have just learned, they then review a list of twenty-seven nouns and decide which are regular nouns and which are abstract. This is followed by a practical exercise where students read the definition of twelve common abstract nouns and place them correctly in context sentences. On the final page is a creative/artistic assignment on abstract nouns to finish the lesson and reinforce the concept. Answers provided.
