### PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Having trouble finding math activity pages to match the new Common Core computation methods in your current math adoption? I did, so I created these practice pages for students to demonstrate the CC addition and subtraction strategies. Includes practice for: Open Number Lines, Partial Sums, and Cross Number puzzles for 2 digit numbers. Designed to coincide with 2nd grade math standards:

MACC2NBT.2.7 - Add and subtract within 1000 using concrete models or drawings

MACC2NBT.2.5 - Fluently add and subtract within 100 using strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction

MACC2NBT.2.9 - Explain why addition and subtraction strategies work, using place value and the properties of operations

This strategy is new to me, but it seems that there is an error on your cross number chart example. In the tens you have 70 and 30. In another column you have 77 and 46. Then you say that they add up to 113. 77 and 36 add up to 113. But 77 and 46 add up to 123. Also, I like this strategy, but is it confusing for students when they see 70 in the tens place? When 7 tens is 70. It makes it look like 70 tens, and that would be 700.......

I think this provides a higher-level way of looking at how to add tens and ones! I am excited to use this with my outside of the box first graders!

Pages 4 and 6 are fantastic and I will definitely use them, thanks so much
Thank you! I know I have a really hard time finding Common Core math strategies worksheets. I will try and upload the ones I've made for my class this year, since we no longer have a math series to pull from. I'll be sure to make some more to help my fellow teachers!

Thank you for these wonderful resources. I also live in Dallas, GA! I teach in Cobb County. Thanks again!! :)
That's great! I'm glad you can use them. I'm also in Cobb County, so we should keep in touch and help each other out with resources. I'm making more and more all the time, since most math materials are too "old school" to be relevant in a Common Core classroom! I love doing it, I just can't always get complete units uploaded along with the gazillion other things we've got going on. Make sure to follow me so you'll get updates when I DO post more math activities! I'm working on 100's chart navigation right now. Thanks again for your feedback!
