This Shared Reading PowerPoint is a great way to begin reading with young students, while also learning about community helpers!! It can be projected for whole group shared reading or printed as a book for your class library :)

This story uses a predictable pattern, "Doctor, doctor, what do you see? I see an ambulance helping me." to support emerging readers. This story features these community helpers (doctor, teacher, police officer, fire fighter, mail carrier, and trash collector) and their tools (ambulance, chalkboard, police car, fire truck, mail truck, and garbage truck.)

My class loved this! It was perfect, as they are huge fans of brown bear and polar bear! They made me change "chalkboard" to smart board though! (we don't even have a chalkboard lol)
