I created this activity to help students see the relavance and importance of learning mathematics. Students are asked to chose a person whose ccupation is of interest, conduct an interview with that person using the questions provided on the worksheet and create a report of their findings in terms of how that person uses math daily in their job. I then have students present their reports to the class using a video or PowerPoint presentation. Students quickly realize that math can be found and is used in every occuapation possible and determine it to be of more importance than originally thought. A great activty in helping students see the relavance and importance of learning mathematics!
