I find children really strengthen their understanding of vocabulary by illustrating words.
After a lesson on comparative and superlative endings, this set gives the children a chance to prove their understanding of comparatives and superlatives. This set has 24 sets of words with base word, base word + er, and base word + est, ready to run off.
This activity works well as an activity to put in the Sub Tub!
Easy to use as an independent center after explicitly teaching the skills. Model illustrations and/or use words to describe (i.e. fast (dog); faster (horse); fastest (cheetah)

I have taught for over thirty years, and have taught most grades from preschool through eight grade. Most of my experience is in the primary grades. I presently teach second grade.
