Students will explore compound words with this hands on literacy activity. The peanut butter and jam cards are to be cut apart and scattered. Students need to put one peanut butter card together with a jam card to build a compound word. These words are to be recorded on a recording sheet and then students can find the words they built in a word search. Check out the preview for a view of the cards and printable activities.
There is a mini compound word poster included.
An option is to use the cards in a pocket chart as a whole class activity.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this packet. I use it as a center every year. It's perfect for the little ones as a self check since each compound word is comprised of a peanut butter slice and a jelly slice. Good stuff. Thank you!
