15 statements: Students must write whether the connection is a TT (text-to-text), TS (text-to-self), or TW (text-to-world). This is great practice for making connections and allows the teacher to see which students are struggling with what kinds of connections. Once the students complete this worksheet, I have them read a just-right book and write down each type of connection in a notebook as they read.
Wonderful exercise. I think it has too many examples, with not enough white space for less fluent readers. Thank you for posting this in Word so that I can make the formatting changes that my students need.
